Dear Isla, Thanks for the last two wonderful conversations over tea and cake. I wish there had been more. In our travels in Anatolia in October '23, when I first got to know you, I noticed you quietly, determinedly and respectfully exploring and photographing the amazing places we all visited. You later showed me the book, the last, unfortunately, of an amazing collection of photo books you so carefully and lovingly designed from you prolific travels. In our last meeting on Saturday 2nd March you showed some of your very fine paintings. Sharing a common interest in design and craft, you very kindly shared with me a portfolio of your past work especially on the Portrait Gallery project; you had amazing drafting skills. I will go there soon and investigate that special detail which one of the stone carvers on that project included for you, behind a bust on the stairs. How good that will be. Thank you Isla.
